Wireless-LAN Requirements

To enjoy the benefits of Public Wireless LAN you will need – in addition to a laptop or pocket PC (e.g. iPaq) – an installed standard Wireless LAN card, based on Standard IEEE 802.11b.

• Start your laptop or handheld
• Start your browser (welcome page will appear automatically)
• Follow the subscribed steps on your screen

Laptop configuration

TCP/IP netwok settings:

• SSID=any (incorrect: Any, ANY)
• Obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP enabled)
  
• Obtain a DNS server address automatically (DNS enabled)

Browser settings:

• Do not use a proxy server

Internet connection settings:

• Do not select a dial-up connection

Software

Each Wireless LAN card comes with drivers and the necessary installation software. The software is required to configure the settings of the Wireless LAN card. An internet browser, e.g. Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape, is required to access e-mail services and the internet.

Unlike solutions from other providers, use of the Flughafen Zürich AG Wireless LAN requires no additional software!
