Traffic Figures
During June 2010 2’004’563 passengers were handled at Zurich Airport, a gain of 3.1% versus June 2009. The year to date passenger growth stands at +3.0%. O&D or local passengers (originating or departing from Zurich) increased by 6.5% to 1’313’329 compared to previous June (YTD +5.3%). Transfer passengers are down by 2.8% to 684’120 in June (YTD -1.0%). The transfer rate which was at 36.3% last June is currently at 34.2% (YTD 35.0%).
The current low cost passenger market share is at 11.2% (YTD 10.4%), showing an increase in passenger figures of 13.8% (YTD +9.1%) versus previous year.
Air Traffic Movements (ATM’s) increased by 5.1% to 23’828 in June versus previous year (YTD +1.3 %). The increase divides into a gain of 5.0% for airlines (YTD +0.5%) and a gain of 5.6% for general aviation and others (YTD +5.6%). The average Passenger per movement figure (airline passengers only) currently is at 100.4 (102.4 previous year) or 96.4 YTD (94.2 previous year). The average seat load factor saw a decrease of 1.1 percentage points to 73.5% (YTD 70.5%).

Commercial Activities
Total turnover (net sales to consumers) during June was CHF 40.8m (7.8% versus previous year). Turnover per departing passenger in June was CHF 40.7, which is 4.5 percent higher than last year.
