Since 29 April 2012, all goods deliveries to the airport’s security sector have to be subjected to security checks in accordance with official Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) requirements. Goods from known suppliers are exempt from the security checks. These deliveries meet pre-defined security requirements and will be given priority treatment at the entrance.Flughafen Zürich AG has already recruited numerous suppliers to its known supplier procedure by means of extensive communication measures.
Goods deliveries from known suppliers are exempted from security checks. In order for a business to obtain this status, it must appoint an individual responsible for security (company security officer), and train employees in the officially required security measures, as well as ensuring the implementation of the corresponding security measures during the manufacture, packing, storage and transportation of airport deliveries.
The submission of a declaration of undertaking to Flughafen Zürich AG serves as confirmation that a given company is implementing the required security measures. In return, said company’s deliveries will no longer be subject to security checks at the access gates, with the exception of random samples.
