Unique News Flash No. 25 / New big scale tenants at Zurich Airport

The buildings Operation Center 1 and Prime Center 2 are almost entirely rented out again after the move-out of Swiss and Skyguide in recent years. The new tenants are the Swiss Railway Corporation (SBB), the building insurance of the Canton of Zurich (Gebäudeversicherung Kanton Zürich), Customs Authority (Zollverwaltung) and Boarder Control (Grenzwache).

Since the move-out of the former tenants Swiss and Skyguide, the buildings Operation Center 1 and Prime Center 2 have been prepared for new leasing opportunities.

It is a testament to the attractiveness of the location Zurich Airport that Unique (Flughafen Zürich AG) was able to rent these premises and thus reduce the vacancy rate despite economically challenging times. It also reconfirms the company's present strategy of focussing both on aviation and non-aviation activities. The excellent accessibility with various modes of transport is an important advantage of Zurich Airport.

Swiss Railway Corporation (SBB) as largest new tenant
With more than 5'200 square meters of rent-space, SBB is the largest new tenant. SBB will pool its various control centers of Eastern Switzerland at Zurich Airport. The building insurance of the Canton of Zurich (Gebäudeversicherung Kanton Zürich) will use 2'900 square meters to install its control center for the emergency numbers 118 and 144 for the Canton of Zurich. Both emergency numbers will be operated by Schutz & Rettung Zürich (Emergency Response Services Zurich). The Swiss Customs Authority and the Boarder Control will lease an additional 750 square meters. As a result of the recent rent-outs, only a few large connected surfaces remain available for rent at Zurich Airport.
