Zurich Airport selected as Best European Airport again

At this year's ceremony of the World Travel Awards, Zurich Airport was rated Europe's leading airport. It is the seventh time that Zurich has won this award. The ceremony took place at Antalya, Turkey, on 1 October.

For the seventh time in succession, Zurich Airport has received the World Travel Award for its user-friendliness and consistently high quality standards.

The criteria that won it this rating were the reach of its sales efforts in the tourist industry – i.e. communication with travel operators and travel agents – the airport's user-friendliness, and the consistently high quality of its products and services.

In its category, Zurich Airport came in ahead of eleven other airports that had been nominated, taking the "Best European Airport" award for the seventh time running. The European airports nominated were Amsterdam, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Moscow (Domodedovo), Hamburg, London (Heathrow), Helsinki (Vantaa), Rome (Leonardo da Vinci), Lisbon, Madrid, Munich and Zurich.

Outstanding service providers in the travel and tourism sector have been competing for the World Travel Award since 1993. The high-profile international contest is advertised internationally and the prizes awarded by London-based media house World Travel Awards Ltd. (www.worldtravelawards.com). The ratings result from an Internet survey of 185,000 tourism experts all over the world.
We would like to thank all the specialists who gave their vote to Zurich Airport – and high praise and thanks to all the staff at Zurich Airport whose hard work made this award possible.
