Customer satisfaction thanks to free Internet

Since January 2013, one hour of free Internet access has been available to passengers and visitors at Zurich Airport. This has had a tremendously positive impact on customer satisfaction.

Passengers want to know whether their flight is on time while en route to the airport. Business travellers make use of the last few minutes before departure to check their e-mails. More and more people need to be online at any time and at any place, for all kinds of reasons.

This is why Zurich Airport offers passengers and visitors the opportunity to surf the Internet free of charge at the airport for 60 minutes. Anyone using a smartphone, tablet or laptop can connect using Zurich Airport’s free WiFi network.

However, airport users can also surf for free even if they don’t have their own device, at one of more than 70 Internet points distributed around Zurich Airport.

Rising customer satisfaction

The popularity of this attractive service in the first four months is proof of how well it meets customers’ needs. The average duration of use is 30 minutes. In total, more than half a million people have already made use of the free Internet access.

A representative survey of passengers catching flights at the airport has shown that free Internet access has significantly increased customer satisfaction.
