Zurich Airport: Christmas shopping in the Airside Center for non-passengers
To celebrate the Airside Center's ten-year anniversary, Flughafen Zürich AG has come up with a special Christmas offer: on the Advent weekends of 29/30 November and 13/14 December 2014, the entire range of shops and restaurants in the passenger area will be open to the public. For security reasons, prior registration is required.
The Airside Center was opened ten years ago. Only passengers with a valid boarding pass have access to this building. To mark the anniversary, Flughafen Zürich AG is making an exception and opening the Airside Center to the public on two Advent weekends. On 29/30 November and 13/14 December from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., visitors can enjoy the diverse shops and restaurants in the Airside Center alongside the wide range available in the Airport Center. On these four days there will be special Christmas promotions and events throughout Zurich Airport.
Access regulations for Christmas shopping airside
The daily number of visitors to the Airside Center is limited. In order to ensure that the security regulations are also fulfilled, visitors must register online in advance and will receive an "X-mas Boarding Pass" that entitles the bearer to one-off access to the Airside Center and to shop in its stores. It is also possible to shop in the duty free stores, but special rules apply. Tobacco products are completely excluded from the Christmas shopping offer for non-passengers. The following conditions apply to the purchase of alcohol: 1 litre of spirits for people aged 18 and over, and 5 litres of wine, dessert wine and sparkling wine per person. The value limit of CHF 300 for duty-free goods may be exceeded, as the airport operator will take care of customs fees and VAT as a little Christmas gift to all visitors. The "X-mas Boarding Pass" must be presented for each purchase. This entitles the bearer to one-off entry to the Airside Center.
Visitors will leave the airside zone via the customs exit with other passengers.
Anybody interested can register online from Friday, 14 November 2014. A separate registration page will be launched on Zurich Airport's website www.zurich-airport.com.
