Solar energy at its best

Give someone a piece of Switzerland from Schweizer Heimatwerk in the form of an innovative solar-powered car. Visit and experience the promotion from 8-28 April 2015 at the Airside Center Level 1.

The unusual toy cars come from the idyllic Appenzell region. The ideal gift for discoverers, passionate hobbyists, solar energy researchers and fans of beautiful wooden toys.

Tour de Suisse with Tomi the cyclist
The bicycle is fully functional.  Turning the rear wheel activates the pedals so that "Tomi" can cycle vigorously. Instead of the bike, the road "drives" and helps Tomi to win the Tour de Suisse. The bike is powered by a solar module. The wooden pulleys are driven by a DC engine, which in turn is powered by a 0.8-watt solar module. The kit is approved for children aged 11 or older, and assembly takes 15-20 minutes.

Unique solar-powered racing car
The Mouvelette can deal with amazing inclines, is not afraid to tackle uneven terrain and it really shows off its elegance on smooth, even surfaces. The rotatable front axle allows the Mouvelette to move in a circle, which is a great advantage, especially when space is limited. The kit is approved for children aged 11 or older, and assembly takes 5-10 minutes.

Discover these great wooden toys from 8 April 2015 at the Airside Center and be inspired by superb Swiss craftsmanship.
