Europe’s best airport
Zurich Airport has received the prestigious World Travel Award for the twelfth time in succession, making it a leader in customer satisfaction.
In the European airports category, Zurich Airport beat eight competitors: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Hamburg, London Heathrow, Lisbon, Munich, Pristina and Paris Charles de Gaulle. The criteria used to assess the contenders included customer friendliness and the general standard of products and service quality.
Stephan Widrig, CEO of Zurich Airport, emphasised the excellent cooperation between the airport operator and its partner companies: "This award goes to all the companies at Zurich Airport, as they all contribute to the high quality of our airport."
The golden brown statue is on display in the glass cabinet in Zurich Airport’s Airside Center. The World Travel Awards are regarded as the "Oscars" of the travel and tourism sector. The World Travel Award has honoured outstanding service providers in the travel and tourism sector since 1993. It is open to an international field of competitors. The ratings result from an Internet survey of travel experts and the general public.
