Summer 2016 timetable – route network news
From Zurich around the world – the summer timetable offers flights to 161 destinations in 63 countries.
SWISS is increasing the frequency of its flights to Boston and Krakow to twice daily and once daily respectively. Moreover, the airline will now be flying three times a week to Alicante. Edelweiss Air will now fly to Rio de Janeiro and Calgary.
Germania Flug AG will offer flights from Zurich to a total of 15 destinations, including Kos, Heraklion, Rhodes, Larnaca, Varna and Burgas. A new destination – Beirut – will be served with twice-weekly flights. In addition to Barcelona, Ibiza and Santiago de Compostela, the Spanish airline Vueling will be flying to London-Luton, Rome, Lisbon, Porto, Alicante and the Canaries. EasyJet will have four weekly connections to Hamburg, and Air Europa will offer twice-daily service to Madrid.
New planes, new cabin classes
On 29 January 2016, SWISS took delivery of the first of nine Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The SWISS configuration of these new aircraft features 340 seats – 8 in First Class, 62 in Business Class and 270 in Economy Class. The completely revamped cabin interior of the new SWISS flagship will meet the highest standards in terms of comfort and aesthetics in all three travel classes. Moreover, for the first time SWISS passengers will enjoy wireless Internet on board the Boeing 777-300ER.
Step by step from 6 July 2016, Singapore Airlines will offer Premium Economy Class seats on its Singapore - Zurich - Singapore route. In this booking class, discerning travellers benefit from wider seats and more leg room. The roomy seats are completely upholstered in leather and equipped with adjustable head, calf and foot rests. Passengers can enjoy a state-of-the-art on-board entertainment system with 13.3-inch HD-capable LCD screens. In addition, there will be a selection of exquisite menus and drinks that guests have the option of booking in advance with the Premium Economy "Book The Cook" service.
