Zurich Airport receives award for security checks
Zurich Airport wins the Skytrax Award in the "World’s Best Airport Security" category for 2019. The decisive criteria included waiting times for security checks, security standards and the competence of the security staff.
Zurich Airport has received the Skytrax Award for "World’s Best Airport Security" for the second time, having previously won in 2016. The prizes were presented at the Passenger Terminal Expo in London on 27 March 2019.Tokyo-Narita was ranked second, with Tokyo Haneda taking third place. In 2018 around 12 million passengers went through security checks at Zurich Airport. Zurich cantonal police are responsible for carrying out security checks on behalf of Flughafen Zürich AG.

Each year, passengers around the world are surveyed on their experiences at airports. The Skytrax Awards are presented on the basis of these surveys.
