In response, representatives from the air transport, business and tourism sectors together with their social partners have met for a virtual ‘Back in the Air’ Summit, at which they formulated three key demands to restore travel freedom. Zurich Airport: Financial Year 2020

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Zurich Airport experienced a historic slump in traffic in 2020. In the year under review, Flughafen Zürich AG's revenue fell from around CHF 1.2 billion to CHF 624 million (-48.4%). The consolidated loss for the financial year just ended amounted to CHF 69.1 million. In November, the Circle opened with a good occupancy rate that currently stands at around 85%. Owing to its growing importance, the international airport business will be concentrated in a separate division under the leadership of Daniel Bircher, who will be a member of the Management Board of Flughafen Zürich AG.

Two new test locations opened at Zurich Airport

Due to the travel regulations currently in force and the need for more tests, the range of Covid-19 test facilities at Zurich Airport is being expanded. The new test centre is located in Terminal 1 and from Wednesday, 3 March 2021 will offer rapid antigen tests. In addition, there is now an airside test lounge.
