The protection concept for Zurich Airport, which has been jointly devised by the airport operator and further partners such as SWISS, Swissport and the airport police, is intended to provide travellers, visitors and airport personnel with optimum protection through actions and precautions that enable and ensure safe air travel.

Flughafen Zürich AG commits to ETH spin-off for CO2 reduction

Flughafen Zürich AG aims to cut its CO2 emissions to zero net by 2050. The coronavirus has done nothing to change this plan. That is why the company has just entered into a partnership with the young high-tech enterprise Synhelion SA to support research and development work on synthetic fuels over the long term. The goal is to make these fuels available in sufficient quantities at market prices. The synthetic fuels from Synhelion's test facility will be used by Flughafen Zürich AG directly at the airport.

Flughafen Zürich AG waives Dividend for 2019

The impact of the COVID-19 crisis has led to substantial revenue declines since mid March for Flughafen Zürich AG. The board of directors has thus reassessed the situation and will propose to the upcoming Annual General Meeting a complete suspension of the dividend. This includes the cancellation of the initially planned ordinary dividend of CHF 3.90 per share and the previously announced additional dividend of CHF 3.20 per share. The Annual General Meeting will be held on June 11, 2020.

Media information regarding coronavirus: construction progress of major project THE CIRCLE

Construction of the major project THE CIRCLE at Zurich Airport is progressing. Due to the current situation concerning the coronavirus, there are now fewer people working on the building site than there would be in normal circumstances, and their health is our top priority. Some suppliers are also unable to operate at present. Certain facilities will therefore be subject to around 2 or 3 months’ delay. However, the building should be completed as quickly as possible – one reason being that the University Hospital of Zurich healthcare centre aims to commence operations as soon as possible. The public facilities will be opened gradually, starting in autumn.
