Procedure for owners
Owners entitled to sound insulation measures for their properties were contacted personally by Flughafen Zürich AG on 18 July 2016. Owners can use the attached reply form to choose which type of window-closing system or sound-absorbing ventilator they would like in their bedrooms.
Upon receipt of the reply form, an external project coordinator will contact the owners to arrange an appointment to visit the properties.
The project coordinator will schedule and coordinate implementation of the measures with the contracting companies. During installation, the contracting companies will minimise inconvenience and will also assume responsibility for cleaning upon completion.
The works will be approved together with the owners upon completion. The project coordinator will prepare a report of the result of the approval process and document the transfer of ownership (guarantee slip) to the owners.
The two-year guarantee period for obvious defects begins as of the approval date. The project coordinator acts as the contact person during this time. At the end of the two-year period, the five-year guarantee period for hidden defects commences. The contact person for asserting claims under guarantee owing to hidden defects is the external partner from whom the owner received the guarantee slip.
