Permit application process
As a general rule, permits must be applied for from the authorities once planning permission has been granted and before construction begins.
Building site Terminal 2
Flughafen Zürich AG offers assistance with the following:
- Discussions with the authorities on the correct implementation/interpretation of the terms of the planning permission, depending on the respective terms.
- Submission of documentation to the authorities to obtain the construction permit, depending on the terms of the planning permission. This generally includes plans for the construction site and proof of proper disposal of construction waste (in accordance with SIA recommendation 430) and the drainage of the site (in accordance with SIA recommendation 431, see also the environmental protection regulations for Flughafen Zürich AG).
- Preparing the construction site drainage concept.
The construction site drainage concept can be the most time-consuming part of the application process. The application should be submitted to the Office of Waste, Water, Energy and Air (WWEA) via Flughafen Zürich AG's building secretariat.
- Authorisation of night-time and/or Sunday work.
Some work in the airport grounds, in particular on the runways, taxiways and aprons, can only be carried out at night when airport operations come to a halt.
The planned night-time work must be reported to the Office for Economy and Labour:
